2 of 5 Acid peel February 28, 2019
Reviewer: Roseanne Daede from Bowdle, SD United States
I used this peel and my face broke out with severe acne the very next day.  I left it on for only 5 minutes.  Maybe I should have used a 20% or 30% peel, but is this common? I am not usually acne prone and I can't even bear to leave the house right now.  I am still hoping that this will clear up and I will see some improvement in my skin tone.

Reply: Hi Roseanne. Those with sensitive skin can experience an adjustment period when new products upset the normal routine.  Glycolic peels' depths can be adjusted very easily with the time left on skin before neutralization, and 5 minutes is on the high end of that spectrum. That being said, it's highly likely that your post-peel routine is what caused your breakout. Using a soap-free cleanser that doesn't disturb the natural skin barrier and moisturizing with a balancing cream that won't clog pores are an essential part of any skin care routine, but especially after peeling.
We offer several cleansers and moisturizers for all skin types. Or if you're out shopping offline, look for non-comedogenic products that are fragrance and detergent-free. Stay away from occlusives like petroleum jelly, and remember to balance your skin's pH with a toner after you wash. Never use alcohol on your face.

1 of 5 Doesnt work for me February 28, 2019
Reviewer: omari bryant from alameda, CA United States
Wondering if i need to try the TCA instead? Literally no results. I've tried twice. I expirience mild tingling then i wash it off and the treated areas mildly burn. but no peeling no frosting no nothing just slight redness and the mild pain. i have blackheads, and light scaring from past acne as well as ingrown bumps thati want gone and im just hopeless about it.

SOMEONE HELP PLSSSS

Reply: In order for a peel to work, it does not have to physically peel or result in intense burning pain. If you have blackheads and mild scarring from past acne, try a 30-percent Alpha/Beta combination peel. Our Alpha/Beta peels are great for both of these conditions; these peels go up to 50-percent, at which point you'll move into some pretty deep-level peeling that's similar to the TCA peels. Our TCA peels are also appropriate for mild scars, however, won't do much to address acne or blackheads.
As with any peel, remember to perform a patch test to see how your skin will respond in the hours and days after a peel is applied.

5 of 5 OMG January 24, 2019
Reviewer: Chelsey Mcallister from Louisville, KY United States
I'm 29 years old and have suffered from mild to moderate acne all of my adult life. My pores are larger than most, my skin is oil and sensitive. After the first use of this product my face broke out for the week following the peel. After that first week, it started to heal and my pores are visibly smaller and my skins tone has evened out. I believe peel helped loosen up the clogged pores to reveal my own skin. I can feel the glow!

5 of 5 Glycolic Acid 40% November 21, 2018
Reviewer: Rennis from Mesquite, NV United States
Just received my recent order of Glycolic acid 40% from this company. I haven't opened it yet, but will be using it after the holidays. I have ordered from Skin Obsession for about 4-5 yrs. The products come with directions that are very clear, please READ the INSTRUCTIONS, if you get a nasty burn from this medical grade acid. I apply the product always on the side of "cautious" and I have never gotten a burn, just the "flaking of skin"which is expected. I like the product come in Amber bottles to protect from degradation of the acid. I have been able to keep a bottle for over a year with good results. I recommend going from lowest 20% to 40 or 50% AHA. I have used every grade but being in my 60's now I just want to keep my skin exfoliated & tight for better product absorbtion.
be careful using these products if you are "newbies" using AHA's.

5 of 5 I really like it. May 1, 2018

I rotate this product with benzoyl peroxide and 1% retin-a. It has helped me tremendously. My skin tone is type V and my issue was hyper pigmentation. I finally feel like I have it under control.
