Light to Medium-Level 40% Alpha Beta Combination Peel

WHAT IS IT: Our Alpha Beta peel contains both Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid. Glycolic Acid is a naturally occurring chemical belonging to the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) family. Derived from sugar cane, this important AHA is the smallest of the fruit acids and is able to penetrate the skin.
Salicylic acid, a common beta hydroxy acid, has been used for treating acne for decades. In fact, acne treatment remains the primary use for beta hydroxy acids. Its effect on the epidermis and upper dermis are similar to those of prescription Retin-A, but with less irritation. It is soluble in oil and can exfoliate oily skin areas, even within oil-rich pores. Therefore, it has a beneficial effect on acne, pigmentary disturbances, and sun damaged skin.

WHAT DOES IT DO: This peel will dissolve the 'glue' that holds dead cells on the surface of the skin. Dead skin cells are what cause a dull, uneven skin tone, and the blocking of pores leading to blackheads and acne. This dissolving action of the Glycolic Acid allows the dead cells to slough off, leaving behind a smoother skin surface with clear pores. This also helps stimulate collagen formation to plump up the skin from beneath.

HOW DO YOU USE IT: This peel can be applied for up to 10 minutes. You can repeat the peel every three weeks and your purchase provides enough peel solution for approximately 4-5 months worth of peels. Your skin will feel softer, look smoother, with improved texture and tone and reduced signs of sun damage. With a peel of this strength, a full course of peels (8-10 peels) are needed to see optimal results.
You'll receive a 30ml (1fl oz) bottle of each medical-grade peeling agent (2 bottles total, 2 oz total). Step one of the process applies salicylic/lactic acid at pH 4. Step two applies glycolic acid with pH 1.

WHY USE A 40 PERCENT COMBINATION PEEL: This peel is one step up from our 30 percent alpha-beta peel. It can retexturize the skin, restoring the radiance of your youth. These easy to use peels combine the benefits of both the AHA's and BHA's, with little to light peeling at the 40 percent concentration.

WHAT TO EXPECT: There will be some redness right after the peel, and possibly some light peeling in the days to follow. This is still a light-level peel and does not require considerable downtime.

OTHER INFORMATION: Because it does exfoliate so well, it has recently been added to formulations for chemical skin peels. Our 40 percent Alpha Beta peel is a light peel and is suitable for all skin types and both beginning and experienced peelers. There may be some redness right after the peel, but generally there is not much if any actual peeling. At 40 percent, these acids are very safe when used as directed, but they are professional strength (pH 1) and should be used only as directed. As with all products, a patch test is recommended to see how your skin reacts to the peel. The use of sunscreen is essential to obtaining the results you are looking for.
Chemical peels should not be used on any sensitive areas of the body, including but not limited to the underarms and groin/genitals.

5 of 5 Really happy with this combo December 22, 2019
Reviewer: Kelly from flat rock, NC United States
I have used tca a few times (30% after a cosmetic procedure and skinobsessions 25%).  I was really pleased with skins 25% and it was magic on my husbands rough skin when done right after a glycolic peel (also skins product).  This new combo is LOVE for me and will be a staple as long as I'm getting the quality products I have always gotten.

I loved this combo peel, it really works great. quality and price is awesome. Also, they send me a free sample of microdermabrasion crystals and that was gorgeous, it works like the expensive brands for the skin. I really recommend them. I’m very happy for my purchase.

5 of 5 Very, very happy customer January 9, 2012
Reviewer: Jane from Austin, TX United States
I started getting chemical peels when I was in high-school, I but once I graduated from college financial considerations (i.e. being self-insured) put a halt to visits to my aesthetician.

The differences in the way my skin looked were notable - in college I was often complimented on how nice my skin looked, but once the peels stopped the compliments stopped.

I was dubious when I saw Skin Obsession mentioned on an online acne forum. I'd had no idea that you could buy chemical peels without having some sort of license.

Overcoming my skepticism I ordered and I couldn't be happier.

I LOVE being able to do these peels at home for a FRACTION of what it would cost if I went to an aesthetician. I can also afford to do peels whenever I want (although I would strongly suggest that anyone new to peels follow the instructions closely until you know how your skin will react).

My skin is finally starting to look like it did before lack of funding turned it into a disaster zone.
