Light-Level 40% Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel
WHAT IS IT: This is the most popular of our Glycolic peel line. The 40% Glycolic acid peel is a fantastic balance of no down time and great results that yield smoother, softer and more even toned skin.
Glycolic acid is a naturally occurring chemical belonging to the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) family. Derived from sugar cane, this important AHA is the smallest of the fruit acids and is able to penetrate the skin, allowing it to effectively dissolve the 'glue' that holds dead cells on the surface of the skin. The dead skin cells are what cause a dull, uneven skin tone, and the blocking of pores leading to blackheads and acne.
This is a 30ml (1fl oz) bottle of 40% Glycolic peeling solution, medical quality, pH 1.5 in amber glass to preserve the activity of the product. Along with the peel you will receive a detailed instruction manual and a free sample of our best selling Microdermabrasion Crystals (one per shipment).
WHAT DOES IT DO: The dissolving action of the glycolic acid allows the dead cells to slough off, leaving behind a smoother skin surface with clear pores. This also helps stimulate collagen formation under the skins surface which helps plump up the skin from beneath, smoothing out fine surface wrinkles and superficial scars.

After peeling your skin will be feel softer, look smoother, with improved texture and tone and reduced signs of sun damage. Those are the differences on the surface of your skin. With collagen stimulation under the skin, fine lines and scars are smoothed out.
OTHER INFORMATION: With a peel of this strength, a full course of peels (8-10 peels) are needed to see optimal results. About 2 days after the peel your skin may start to flake and peel slightly. You can encourage peeling by using warm compresses and taking hot showers, but please do not pick at the skin! It must come off when it is ready to, not when you are ready for it to! By peeling off the skin you risk scarring by exposing skin that is not ready for the world yet, so allow the skin to shed on its own.
As with all exfoliating products, the use of sunscreen is essential to obtaining the results you are looking for. If you are not able to commit to using a sunscreen, this is not the treatment you should choose as you will just damage your skin all over again! Chemical peels should not be used on any sensitive areas of the body, including but not limited to the underarms and groin/genitals.
